You have probably found your way here because you are looking for a translator. Maybe you are a game developer or a publisher. Maybe you have written a book. Maybe you’ve stumbled upon my pages on social media. Regardless of what has brought you here let me tell you who I am and how I can help you.
Hi, I am Anett. I tell your story.
As a translator and writer I work primarily in audiovisual translation from English into German for the entertainment and gaming industry, localizing narratives, manuals, press releases, and marketing material. With more than fifteen years of experience in writing (fiction and non-fiction) and almost ten in translation, I am your partner in crime when it comes to your localization needs.
I specialize in works that are frequently off the beaten track — you’re
working on a horror game with an intense atmosphere? You’ve just launched your historical music project? You’re planning an event around the disturbing art of expressionism? Your latest fashion line is delightfully extravagant? You want to attract visitors to your yet uncharted tourist spot? And now you require a writer and translator who can convey your message to your target audience? You have come to the right place.
It is my firm conviction that translation involves much more than merely transcribing words from one language into another. Rather, a translator must understand the overall tone of the source text and its cultural implications — then recreate these in the target language. My role is to scrutinize your narrative through a writer’s eye, to disassemble it and reconstitute it in the target language, thus keeping as close as possible to your story and its overall vision, in terms of its atmosphere, content, and subtext.
Speaking of target language: I translate from English into German (my native language) and work closely with a few trusted colleagues and their ruthless editorial pens. As a bilingual writer, however, I do take on writing and copywriting projects in English as well.
